  • Portable Charger

  • Plug Adapter

  • Toe Socks - My favorite!

  • Cable Adaptor Kit with Stand

  • Cable Organizer

  • Compression Packing Cubes:

  • Neck Pillow

When I went to Korea, these travel essentials were truly what I needed to have a smooth travel experience. They kept me from being bored on my flight to staying connected with friends and family on the go. Each item played a crucial role in making my journey smooth and enjoyable. Since that trip, I've routinely used these essentials as part of my travel routine, and I can't imagine traveling without them. I know that incorporating these essentials into your travel gear will elevate your experience, making your trips as seamless and pleasant as mine.

Let's dive and find your new favorite travel companion!

Travel Essential #1: Portable Charger

My portable charger is something that I rarely leave home without on the daily, let alone while traveling. We live in a world where so much of our lives is stored on our phones and when traveling that is even more true. From airline tickets to maps and directions, having a fully charged device is a necessity. I recommend one that is small enough to keep with you in your day bag while sightseeing, but still robust enough to keep your devices charged all day. You never know when you will be able to find an outlet!

Travel Essential #2: Plug Adapter

Frequently when traveling to international locations the outlets will be a different shape. You can either get an area-specific plug adapter like the one I used in Korea, or you can get a universal plug adapter that gives all the options you might need for different countries. Whichever one you choose just make sure you understand your destination’s specific plug and voltage. With this, you will be all set to keep that portable charger charged and ready for another day of travel adventures.

Travel Essential #3: Toe Socks

This one is going to be controversial to some, I know this because people comment to me about it on the daily but hear me out. Toe socks can be a great way to prevent blisters from all that walking you will be doing at your destination. When traveling you are only there for a short amount of time and being in pain is not something you signed up for. So, don’t knock them till you try them, and then come back and thank me for your new favorite clothing item.

Travel Essential #4: Cable Adaptor Kit with Stand

I adore this little gadget! In fact, I just keep it in my purse even when I am not traveling. This compact cable adaptor kit is perfect for keeping all of your technology charged without taking up a ton of space. I keep this in my carry-on so that I can easily charge my phone and headphones on a long flight as well as keep my phone on the little stand for easy, hands-free movie watching. I love the jealous look I get from people when I pull this out, set up my phone, and then kick back and relax. All while they struggle to hold their phone without having their arm get tired. It’s a small price for something that adds so much value to my travel experience.

Travel Essential #5: Cable Organizer

Now I still have some longer cables I take with me and those I keep in a cable organizer. It keeps your cords and cables organized and in a single place. (Which TSA also likes) I love not having to dig through my bag to find the right charger. Also, it is a handy place to keep a pen which is another thing you need when traveling internationally for filling out forms. Overall, I love how this one isn’t too big or too small and that I can fit my portable charger in it perfectly.

Travel Essential #6: Compression Packing Cubes

I got these compression packing cubes to see what all the hype was about and see if it would actually help me stay organized on my trip. And… I found out the hype was worth it! I use these for all my travel now. I have different ways I short my clothes depending on the trip, but I figured out a great use for these. Part way through a trip or at the end I have dirty and clean clothes, but I don’t want them mixing so these cubes are great for keeping them separate but still compact. They really do help me fit a bit more into my suitcases too.

Travel Essential #7: Neck Pillow

I used to hate taking a neck pillow with me as I found it to be bulk and you only use it on the flight, but then started traveling internationally and I knew I needed one for those long flights. This neck pillow I found and use is so nice because it rolls small and easily fits in my carry-on. Plus, besides plane rides, this is also nice for long bus or train rides between cities.
